Our Aim is True

Saw my ex-wife and the kids the other day. We fired our weapons in the air to show things between us were not hostile. The kids aimed their toy guns at me but then turned them on each other playfully. I was thankful for that.

Now that gun possession is mandatory, things have definitely improved. During our marriage my wife had wounded me twice, once in the knee, before I found cover. She was very quick.

After the split, however, we aimed to just miss each other. We may have hit some neighbors, though, but that’s the price of freedom.
